Engendering Relational Practice: Supporting Care Experienced Young People Enabling young people, particularly those who are care experienced, to benefit from lasting, supportive relationships is fundamental. Engendering relational practice involves building and nurturing meaningful connections with young people to support their well-being and development. These practices contribute to creating lasting relationships that support care experienced young people as they transition into adulthood and beyond. By prioritising relational practice and implementing these principles, we can create a supportive and nurturing environment where care experienced young people feel valued, understood, and empowered to thrive. The training includes:
▪ Building an understanding of young people’s lived experiences
▪ Knowing how establishing trust-based and respectful relationships with young people can enhance their experiences
▪ Actively engaging young people in changes and transitions at home and educational settings
