How Many Times a Day do You Laugh?!

I've been extremely lucky to have had the opportunity this spring and summer to exhibit and present at a range of conferences. It has been a real pleasure to promote positive and permanent approaches to addressing behaviour and to have met so many practitioners who share this ethos.

On 15th May I gave a presentation at the Parent Conference held by You & Me Counselling in Essex. The theme was How Our Environment Shapes Who We Become and I shared The Value of Early Intervention in Supporting Emotional Wellbeing. Despite the travelling, it was a great experience.

Then on 23rd May I had a stall at the amazing Connection Counts! Conference in Sutton Coldfield. It was a great atmosphere with lots of personal touches - and a live Shetland Pony!! I've made a number of connections from this event.

On 6th July I delivered a workshop as well as exhibiting at the Diverse Education Conference in Wolverhampton. My workshop was on Anti-Racist Practice In Education. Again I've made some great contacts.

On 22nd June I attended the Early Years Conference held by the University of Wolverhampton in Walsall. Whilst I didn't speak or exhibit, I made a very successful connection with Sue Williams and Justine Everett, Early Years Leads at Gloucestershire County Council.

So, I'm very pleased to be exhibiting and delivering a workshop at the Gloucestershire Early Years Conference on 15th November. Thank you to Sue and Justine for inviting me!!

We have been in discussions about supporting Gloucestershire's passionate Early Years practitioners with another conference in the spring. I'm thrilled to be able to provide ongoing training and workshops as well as my free 30-minute mini-consultations when needed.

I'm very proud to be working in this role. Early years is very close to my heart as my specialism at university and nine extremely happy years teaching and leading in this age phase!!

The fundamental objective of Aluna Behaviour Consultancy is to affect behavioural change for happier and more fulfilling lives. My work is with children, families, adults and professionals giving practical support and insight, delivering specialist training, workshops and coaching opportunities. It's important that I take a wholly inclusive approach in the work that I do.

As a Behaviour Strategist with 30 years’ teaching and education experience, I have a range of skills, comprehensive knowledge and expertise to provide specialist support in promoting positive and inclusive behaviour. Effective intervention at the earliest stage possible is key to breaking the cycle of behaviour dysregulation.

At a time when parents and professionals are struggling both financially and emotionally we must ensure that our children's right to a good childhood is maintained. The average 40 year old laughs four times a day; for the average 4-year-old it's 300 - so let's keep them as happy as they can be.

We have a lot to learn from these little ones!!

I'm looking forward to meeting Gloucestershire early years practitioners attending my workshop Supporting Positive Behaviour for Learning and a good chat over lunch!!
